Delete your WordWeft account
Last updated: 2026-04-22
You can delete your WordWeft account and the data associated with
it at any time. WordWeft is operated by Michael Hatkevich.
In the app (recommended)
On the web at
wordweft.net or in the Android
app, open Settings (the ⚙️ icon on the home
screen) and tap Delete my account. A confirmation
dialog explains what gets removed; confirming deletes your account
and associated data immediately.
If you see "Requires recent sign-in", Google
wants a fresh login before it lets a permanent account be
deleted. Sign out, sign back in with Google, then try Delete
again. Anonymous accounts don't hit this.
By email (fallback)
If the in-app flow doesn't work for you, email
wordweftgame@gmail.com
with the subject line:
Delete my WordWeft account
In the body, include enough info for us to identify your account:
- If you signed in with Google: the Google
email address you used to sign in.
- If you played anonymously (never signed in):
your in-game display name and an approximate date when you
started playing. Anonymous accounts can be harder to
identify uniquely; we'll do our best.
Email requests are processed within 30 days. You'll get a
confirmation email when the deletion is complete.
What gets deleted
- Your user profile (display name, avatar, color).
- Your Firebase Authentication account (and any linked Google
Sign-In identity).
- All stories where you are the sole author.
- Your leaderboard entries (scores and ranks).
- Your friends list and any pending friend requests.
- Your in-game achievements and progression data.
What may be retained
- Collaborative stories. Stories you helped
create with other players are part of those other players'
game history. Your authorship attribution is removed; the
words you contributed to the shared story remain visible to
the other contributors.
- Aggregate, anonymized statistics (e.g.,
total daily active players) that contain no personally
identifying information.
- Backups may temporarily retain data for up to 90 days after
deletion before being overwritten.
